BJJ Belts for Ortega and Yamatodamashii |

|January 9th 2007| Last Saturday Franco "Ortega" DeLeonardis hosted a BJJ Seminar with the famous Aldo "Caveirinha" Januario of Gracie Barra from Brazil in Hanau. Caveirinha, a multiple brazilian Champion in BJJ and Vale Tudo, awarded two belts after the three hour seminar: Yamatodamashii got his bluebelt for his Superfight against Philipe "Furao" Della Monica (BJJ Blackbelt and 3time brazilian Champion) at the last European Championships in Submission Wrestling and Ortega was awarded the purplebelt for his contious development and successes in BJJ. Both are now affiliated with the Gracie Barra Equipe Caveirinha and will continoue the cooperation with Caveirinha. |

|February 4th 2007| Yesterday Franco "Ortega" De Leonardis has hosted another great BJJ No-Gi Seminar in his academy in Hanau (close to Frankfurt). Philipe "Furao" Della Monica of the Gracie Barra Equipe Caveirinha, who became European BJJ Champion only one week befor in Portugal, came to teach the participators some of his outstanding technique. Of course the top fighters of the GTT have attended this seminar to learn from one of the best. We thank Furao for a great Seminar and hope to have him back in Germany very soon! |

|February 5th 2007| On February 24th GTT's Peter "Yamatodamashii" Angerer will fight in a four-man-tournament at the "Ultimate Warrior Challenge" in England for the World Title in the Welterweight Division. His first opponent will be the Brazilian Fabricio Nascimento from Nova Uniao, who lives in Italy. Nascimento is a famous BJJ Champion and multiple World Champion in MMA, but Peter does his homework. Together with the Team and with the support of Aldo "Caveirinha" and Phillipe "Furao" Della Monica he prepares for this challenge. |

|February 11th 2007| Yamatodamashii gets big support from his team in his final preparations for his fight against BJJ Black Belt Fabricio Nascimento at UWC in two weeks. Currently the 38 year old MMA veteran and SHIDO Welterweight Champion trains with some of the best Grapplers in Germany to get ready for this challenge. "The support of my team is the most important thing to me", says Peter. "All of them push me hard and help me so much. Rednose, Ortega, Frank and of course my trainer Matthias Werner - they all support me to make me win this fight." Also the seminars with Aldo "Caveirinha" Januario and Phillipe "Furao" Della Monica of the Gracie Barra Equipe Caveirinha helped Yamatodamashii to get ready for another title. |

|February 12th 2007| Yesterday Daniel "Rednose" Ackerman has held a seminar with Aldo "Caveirinha" Januario of the Gracie Barra in Mainz. After a tough and very impressive three hour seminar Caveirinha awarded Rednose with the BJJ Purple Belt. Daniel is one of the best Grapplers in Europe in the Lightweight Division, who has won the prestigious "Ultimate Grappling Challenge" twice and qualified for the European Trials of ADCC this year by winning the Swiss ADCC Qualifier. Rednose is now the third fighter of the GTT who got his BJJ belt under Caveirinha. |

|February 25th 2007| Yesterday Andreas "Iron Man" Beckert fought at the WPKC Fight Night in Offenbach in a Re-Match against WKA No 1 ranked Steve Neumann in Thaiboxing. Beckert has beaten Neumann previously at the S1 European Grand Prix by unanimous decision and Neumann called for a Re-Match. Despite a bad flue he catched only three days prior to this match the Iron Man was willing and able to stand against Neumann a second time. After three crueling rounds the match was declared a draw. |

|February 25th 2007| Peter "Yamatodamashii" Angerer fought yesterday at the "Ultimate Warrior Challenge" in Southend (UK) in a four-man World Title Tournament. In his first match he faced the highly favored Fabricio Nascimento (Nova Uniao) from Brazil and lost in only 37 seconds in round 1 via a Kimura to Nascimento. |

|February 25th 2007| One of GTT's newest and youngest talents, the 14 year old Max "Maximus" Schmid from Großbettlingen, has had an impressive debut for the GTT at the "Submissao" international Grappling Competition in Karlsruhe yesterday. He fought in the "Under 17 years" division in Submission Wrestling and was able to tap all of his three opponents with his tremendous technique. But that was not enough for the Teenager, who trains in the Kamikaze Dojo in Nürtingen under Shihan Peter Angerer. He decided to fight in the Mens divsion, too and made his way to the semi-finals, where he only was stopped by points against the later winner. Congratulations to Max for this superior display of technique and fighting spirit! Also Daniel Schöb and Bettina Stähle have fought. Daniel won two fights by submission befor he lost in the quarter finals and Bettina her first match. You can find a gallery with loads of pictures from the fights here! |

|March 12th 2007| Three fighters of the German Top Team competed last weekend at the Sub-Battle 2 in Cologne. The Sub-Battle is a submission tournament, initiated by Black Belt Andreas "Andyconda" Schmidt without time-limits. Daniel "Hijikata" Schöb has won two fights and lost two in both weight divisions, befor he injured his right elbow and couldn't continue. The new Shootingstar of the GTT in Grappling is without a doubt the 16 year old Raoul "Kokoro" Göhrum, who not only fought in both weight divisions (-80 kg and +80 kg), but who won 6 out of 10 matches on this day and has fought for 3rd place in both divisions. Great fighting spirit and determination!!! Peter "Yamatodamashii" Angerer lost in the +80 kg division to the multiple Champion Marko Straub (Team Andyconda) and concentrated on the -80 kg division from that on. With three submission wins (two guillotine chokes and one neck crank) he went on to the finals, where he faced the US american Llyod Osafo of Team Hanging Hammers. Both fighters showed tremendous skills but Peter went on to a 6:1 lead by two mount positions, befor Llyod could apply a dangerous armbar. Slowly Peter worked his way out of this submission attempt and could secure a third mount position, which gave him the final score of 9:1 and securing the win. |

|March 25th 2007| Yesterday one of GTT's finest Grapplers - Daniel "Rednose" Ackerman - has fought in the European Trials of the famous Abu Dhabi Combat Club. While Daniel managed to finish his first fight in about 20 seconds via a Heelhook against Thomas Barlow from UK, he lost his second match in the quarterfinals against Fran Alcalde from Spain by points. |

|April 11th 2007| On Saturday May 5th 2007 GTT stand-out Andreas "Iron Man" Beckert will host the third "SHI KON Fight Night" in Villingen. Most of the GTT fighters will be on the card in Kickboxing- and MMA-bouts. The main event will be the title defense of Peter "Yamatodamashii" Angerer against the Brazilian Willamy Freire (Fight World Competition Team), who has numerous titles in Vale Tudo and BJJ in Brazil. |

|April 11th 2007| On May 26th Philipp "Marvel" Schade will fight in the Cage Rage Contenders show in Dublin (Ireland) against Adrian Degorski (Straight Blast Gym). Marvel stepped up in weight from the lightweight division to welterweight and has worked hard on his skills. A victory over the highly favoured Degorski would be very important for Philipp. |

|May 2nd 2007| King of the Cage- and Shooto Japan veteran Mario "Spiderman" Stapel hosted the first "Stapel Fighting Challenge" last Sunday in Giessen (Germany). Two fighters of the GTT competed at this event. Philipp "Marvel" Schade fought against Malte Janssen (Taifun Luta Livre) and was dominated by the superb Grappler on the ground, where Janssen unleashed a furious and punishing Ground and Pound, to punch Marvel into Submission late in the first round. Daniel "Hijikata" Schöb gave his Pro debut at this event, when he faced Andre Schuhmacher. Hijikata managed to take Schuhmacher easily to the ground, where he secured the Mount Position and punched Schuhmacher into Submission in only 17 seconds in round 1. A victorious and impressive debut of Hijikata, who has a lot of potential. |

|July 5th 2007| Fists of Fury 4 on June 30th 2007 in the Jahn Sporthalle in Stuttgart Feuerbach was a night of hot action, but also a night of dramatic defeats for the GTT. Rookie Altan Seven faced the japanese star Shingo Yokoyama in a Shidokan Superfight and lost by a judges decision after two hard rounds. Also Annika Sitter took on a top notch opponent in Nadia van der Weel from Holland in her debut fight. Annika fought hard but was hit with a solid knee to the stomach early in round 2 and was unable to continue. Andreas Beckert faced no other than Katel Kubis from Brazil in a Thaiboxing Superfight, which he also lost in round 1 by a elbow knockout to the head. And to make things even worse SHIDO MMA Welterweight Champion Peter Angerer faced Brazil's Josenildo de Oliveira in a title match. In the mid of round 1 Josenildo connected with a high kick to the head of Angerer which send the German to the mat with a broken jaw. Josenildo de Oliveira is the new Welterweight Champion in SHIDO MMA and Angerer has to recover for about three month until he can fight again. |

|October 1st 2007| Yesterday, on September 30th, the first event of the new "THIS IS SHIDO" amateur series in MMA has been held in the SHI KON Fight Club in Villingen-Schwenningen. The show saw exciting matches in three weigth-classes with some high caliber match-ups, e.g. the fight between S1 veteran Andy Beckert and Daniel Schöb, which Daniel Schöb won in impressive fashion in about a minute with a Rear Naked Choke. Daniel also won the the welterweight division later on as well as Stefan Hoss showed tremendous skills and technique to win the lightweight class. Patrick Herring from Mainz was again supreme and won the middleweight class in ease. |

|November 12th 2007| Yesterday, the second event of the MMA Amateur Series "This is SHIDO" was held in Mainz, featuring some fighters of the GTT. Stefan Hoss and Altan Seven both won their MMA bouts against fighters from the USA impressively by submission in Round 2. But it was Annika "La Locita" Sitter of the GTT, who made a huge impact at this event, by winning the Submission Wrestling Tournament at this day. |

|November 25th 2007| Yesterday GTT's own Peter "Yamatodamashii" Angerer fought at FX 3 "Germany vs. UK" in Reading (UK) against Cage Rage- and KOTC-veteran Nigel "Pitbull" Whitear of the Rough House Gym. The 39 year old former Welterweight Champion Angerer needed only 70 seconds to take Whitear to the ground, punish him with solid punches from the mount and submit him with a textbook armbar early in round 1. An impressive comeback after his fatal loss against Josenildo de Oliveira (Brazil) in his last title match in June in Germany, which resulted in a broken jaw for Angerer. The restless veteran had a speedy recovery and trained hard for this fight against Whitear: "I was so hungry to win this match after my loss against Josenildo. I knew, I had to win impressively early in the fight to re-establish my name internationally." |

|December 2nd 2007| Two fighters of the German Top Team competed at the most challenging test in Martial Arts: the annual World Shidokan Open in Chicago (USA). Philipp "Marvel" Schade competed in a 4-Man Middleweight Tournament for the World Title, but lost his first fight against Brent Weedman (USA) by KO in Round 1. The reigning Heavyweight World Champion Thorsten "German Oak" Kronz fought a Superfight against Dan Lucas of New York (USA). Thorsten made quick work with his opponent, delivering strong leg-kicks to open up a gap in the defense of Lucas to apply a wonderful knee to the head, which sent the US fighter down for the count early in round 1. With this impressive KO victory Thorsten stays undefeated in Shidokan! |
